In 2008, Royal Birkdale Golf Club will host what is arguably the greatest golf tournament in the world - The Open Championship. The ninth time to be played over the Lancashire course, where Arnold Palmer's victory in 1961 marked the virtual re-birth of golf's oldest championship. Mark O'Meara was the last Open Champion at Royal Birkdale in 1998. This challenging links golf course has been voted the No 1 course in Britain and has held two Ryder Cups, the Walker Cup and the Curtis Cup.
Packages
Packages are available within the Executive Restaurant, located within the official hospitality village at Royal Birkdale. Tables are available for 8-12 guests with smaller bookings being accommodated on a shared basis. The Private Chalets are also located in the official hospitality village and offer seating for 30, 50 or more guests.
Alternatively other packages include The Open Championship Club and Sky boxes; both overlooking the players practice putting green and located close to the Carnoustie Hotel. Both these facilities offer a superior standard of hospitality.
